ABEG!!! DON'T DOWNGRADE ME...

Beyonce composed a lyric that struck a cord in me in her 2009 song "upgrade you". she displayed the skills of a purring tigress, feigning a flamboyant seductress or perhaps a lavishly spoilt and extravagant queen, exhibiting her glory in order to entice a male counterpart. The fact that we know her rapper hubby Jay Z is equally well to do suggests that she's probably teaching him how to spend his fortune or shes bountifully complementing it.
In reality, stagnant water really does stink, no right thinking human being wants to remain in one spot, naturally. Even kids want to explore and exploit their environment, facing their fear, protecting their territory and of course discovering new grounds.

This is a natural principle which enables one to keep pushing forward especially if he makes little progress from time to time as his curiosity receives more and more satisfaction.

So who wants a downgrade?, well i guess that will only be one who is in electric shock, of course he'll want the current passing through him to be downgraded and also one in a turbulent aircraft "come down gently", or as Ludacris would like it "how low can you go?".

Seriously though, don't you dare embarrass me in public, that will only tempt me to hate you because of the perhaps ignorance that makes you to destructively criticize, or as Stephen .R Covey of blessed memory perfectly puts it in his internationally acclaimed world best seller 7 habits of highly effective people, about what happens when a father scolds his daughter sternly enough to disgrace her " she becomes outwardly submissive but inwardly rebellious, suppressing cruel feelings only to come out in the future in uglier ways".

So in other wards, we are nice for our own good, and cruel to our detriment. Downgrading someone can get an immediate reaction of defensiveness from an explosive person, and can on the other hand be bottled up in the seclusive mind of an implosive person and may in the future blow up in our faces like the bomb of terrorists.

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN...

Basically, every man is a king, perhaps especially in his own right, light or his secluded world, possibly of lucid fantasy or just an incorrigible indulgence bestowed by life and nature.
Every man wants and should be treated with royalty, well this brings the good nature of man to the fore, allowing us live in a fine state of harmony.

Every female is equally a queen in her own world, be it magical enough to encourage her lift her head into the clouds or when her glamour infiltrates the aura which wraps around her admirers.
However, viewing from the perspective of stereotypical allowance, the privilege of royalty is so sweet that anyone would trade places with the royal family to share the wealth and power that come with it.

Queen Elizabeth II is the head of state of the UK and 15 other commonwealth realms.
The Queen is celebrating her 87th birthday in private at Windsor Castle, in advance of military tributes on Monday 22 April, which will include a 41-gun salute in her honour.
The monarch has two birthdays - her actual birthday celebrated on 21 April, and her official one in June, marked by the Trooping the Colour parade.
As her birthday falls on a Sunday this year, the military tributes have been postponed until tomorrow.
In London, the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, the ceremonial saluting battery of the Household Division, will fire a 41-gun royal salute in Hyde Park at midday. A 21-gun salute will take place in Windsor Great Park, and a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London.
The King's Troop provided the gun carriage that bore the coffin of Baroness Thatcher in the ceremonial procession to St Paul's Cathedral last week. Thatcher was also 87.

The gun and the horses that formed part of the funeral cortege will take part in the gun salute.
Before the King's Troop arrive in Green Park, the Band of the Royal Artillery will play a selection of ceremonial music.
This year is an eventful one for the Queen, with the 60th anniversary of her coronation taking place this summer, following last year's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, which marked the anniversary of her accession to the throne.
Her third great grandchild and a future sovereign is expected to be born in mid-July to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The Queen was born Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary on 21 April 1926, the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York. She is the great-great-grandchild of Queen Victoria.
Queen Elizabeth II is Head of State, the Armed Forces, the Commonwealth and the Church of England. She has been married to the Duke of Edinburgh for more than 65 years, has four children and is grandmother to eight grandchildren.
She carried out 325 engagements in the UK in 2011.

By the way the authour of this blog happens to share birth date with the Queen.
GOD save the Queen, and i too...

HOW YOU TREAT A MAN...(CONT.)

vector of businessman with thought bubble.

This is a true story, there was this lad called Ola. Quite a smart and fine lad so much that everyone admired his graceful gait. Ola played football with other kids in the neighbourhood, and as you would expect, he sure never went unnoticed.
The way Ola moved and handled things with efficacy earned him the nickname "officer". One day Ola asked me, "do i really look like an officer?" that was when i knew he liked the perception people had about him, and the momentum was building up within him to live up to what people thought about him. In short, today as we speak, Ola is an officer with the Army.

This is a very practical principle which we witness everyday, perhaps we are not just sensitive and observant enough to notice it. When you call a man a fool, even if he becomes defensive, he will unconsciously see the foolish features in him. Call a man a superhero and perhaps someday he'll see his wings and discover that he can fly.
So please stop calling that fine kid a moron, apart from the fact that you are sucking away his self esteem like a vicious vampire, you are creating an enemy for yourself who will eventually go elsewhere (even wrong places) to feel strong and alive, and thus he'll see you as an enemy who he should distance himself from because every memory of you will make him feel pain.
Most of all, you may be ignorantly altering the eco system which is like throwing a stone at the market, it might meet your loved one in some sort of way, directly or indirectly.

We really are superheroes and it is quite imperative that we constantly remind ourselves of this truth beyond lucid fantasy, and gradually, the words shall wrap upon each other layer by layer until they become real and unbreakable, and the seeds mature like an acorn that has become a mighty oak tree, putting our lives in a positively pre-meditated auto-pilot mode, propelling us further into the climax of our dreams with as little effort as swimming along with the tide. Oh what peace, what awesomeness.

HOW YOU TREAT A MAN...

How complex can we refer man to be in direct proportion to his environment, subjective or otherwise? Man, a hero, yet a villain, depending on the seeds planted in the fertile soil of his heart.
I totally agree with the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson " Treat a man as he is, and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he could be, and he will become what he should be".

The fact that we are unable to adequately explain the mysteries behind how we constantly move around, think and make things happen is enough evidence for us to realize that we are spiritual beings having human experience.
So, we not being able to see spirits gives words the right to be in the same realm, we cannot see words which are very powerful and have a high degree of influence over us, they are our genesis.
Words help elevate or dampen our spirits, depending on what words are said, by whom, when, where and how they are said.
When words are said, they are like an egg which you throw, they fall and disassemble all over, its just that in this case, they become seeds, and so therefore are planted through the ears of the one that hears them, and are planted in the mind of man, the mind being the most fertile soil, capable of germinating the words to grow up as big and high as the oak tree.

In the light of this, what you say to your fellow man goes a long way in determining how he treats you.
Talk down at a man and watch the man in him die even while he lives. Praise a man and watch his spirit soar like the great eagle, showing strength, vigour and valour, using his graceful gait to gather an army of enthusiastic warriors motivated to take over...(to be continued)

A trip by train in Lagos...

I would have loved to give a recent picture of a train in transit in Lagos, but if if i dared take a picture of it, i'll probably lose my eye, because while snapping away, a very leathal projectile might as well violently grace the glass which will produce a flash from my camera or camera phone.

Seriously, stagnant water really does stink, apparently, every government parastatal effectively reflects who we really are. We are the government, the public figures that we know actually represent us, how hard can it be to understand that?

Mr. Thomas happens to be a tenant who lives in a duplex belonging to Mr. Lanade in Ogba area of Lagos. Perhaps due to the fact that Mr. Thomas' business wasn't going very well, the surrounding of his house was found to be bushy, full of refuse, the entrance gate was rusted and irregularly bent and the entire building was seen to be dilapidated and gradually falling apart.
When Mr. Lanade got worried, he approached Mr. Thomas gently, "why have you mismanaged your house?", "But it is not my house!" Mr. Thomas said. Okay then, would you take proper care of it if i gave you the house? said the Landlord. This statement changed the reaction of Mr. Thomas.
This scenario clearly depicts the average Nigerian psyche, we don't want to take care of things we use unless it is expressly assigned to us, but we fail to realize whatever we use is actually ours, and we might as well deserve it.

Back to the train ride, and please don't get me get wrong, in as much as we have freedom of information, i am not biased when i say the Nigerian Railway Corporation under the leadership of Seyi Sijuwade is doing very well, gathering momentum from the doldrums it was recently revived from.
Think about it, the NRC started operations in Nigeria in 1898, which coincides with the period when lots of plans were made to put Nigeria on the map. Plans like Agriculture, Education, Industrialization, Road networks and bridges. Apparently, the white folks took charge and called the shots as at that time, so all the good things they established back then were actually made to last a certain time frame with the plan or initiative to improve upon them.
Unfortunately, ever since we took charge of ourselves and the activities that our lives depend upon, our priorities got misplaced all of a sudden. An average Nigerian wants money over comfort and shame, enabling us compromise standard and conscience, allowing us downplay excellence and celebrate mediocrity.
Counties like the United states of America have shot up to great heights because of the quality and optimism of her citizens. Most of them are well educated and enlightened and on top of it they are optimistic so much to see the big picture in every scenario and only seek for a solution to problems that shall surely arise, therefore they constructively criticize.

So if you board a Lagos train and you experience congestion, inadequate security and safety measure, look at it this way, majority of the train passengers haven't quite seen beyond their noses and so do not mind so far they get a ride, and even if they complain, they will only destructively criticize the system, not considering the default hypocritical tendencies that oozes as an aura over them.
One more thing, don't take a picture of a Lagos train in transit, let the professionals do it.

LOVE FOR REAL?

"I love you!"...These are three magic words that will shoot right at your heart like an arrow no-matter who says it. It will melt your heart even if it is made out of stone, it will lift your spirit even if it has gone so low beyond the the base of the river and it will surely make you smile even if it is in secret, especially if you couldn't afford to let the guard of your ego and pride of your public charisma down.

In reality though, we all know that not everyone that says the three fine magic words actually mean them, well this apparently seems to be the major cause of heartbreak the world over, even in the spirit realm.
Scientists believe love is overrated, imagine comparing the way we feel when we are in love to exactly how excited we get when we get to eat chocolate, hmm interesting isn't it?

This brings me to the question "What is love?"
Some will call it an intense feeling of deep affection, a beautiful one goes thus “Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get — only with what you are expecting to give — which is everything.”
The truth is we can go on and on about the definitions of love, but i'm sure we'll never be satisfied even after completing exhausting ourselves.

Permission to be a little biased here but i strongly agree with Wayne Dyer who believes that love is an ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves without any insistence that they satisfy you.
Hmm, a sigh of relief right? no way! And believe it or not we haven't quite gotten to the main point yet, it isn't yet uhuru as they say.

When it comes to love, i am way far away from performing lip service, i like the real goose pimples, swelling head, butterfly in tummy kind of love, the kind that relieves your soul of burden, touches your heart, caresses your mind and cushioning your collective body of psychology.
I bet i sound like one in a world of incorrigible lucid fantasy, well, pardon my indulgence, but a place of wishful thinking can be a healthy vacation spot to escape to if you feel you need to runaway from troubles that worry the mind.

Are you in love? Precisely the right question, only it's not complete except you ask "am i in love with myself?" else you can never love anybody right. The tricky part is you don't have to deceive yourself by saying "i'm in love with myself", but rather you'll eat well, dress well and try how best possibly to stay healthy. That summarizes it, the moment you strive to replicate the activities you do to make you live fantastic in someone else' life, my dear, you are hopelessly and helplessly in love.

ALIBI...(CONT.)

Well well, being a fan of principles sure helps to solve a whole lot of psychological problems, especially from an imperatively realistic point of view.
It is definitely not fair on ourselves when we constantly look ourselves eyeball to eyeball and still lie, enveloping ourselves with unpleasant deceit. Even the holy book says "Know the truth and it shall surely set you free". It gives an utmost sigh of relief, and expunges any need to forcefully make our brain reminisce memories that never existed, thus allowing us to be unfortunately bewildered by the shadows of the true or false phenomenon.
Using the Pareto Principle, it will be well in place to say that eight out of every ten people will be extremely consumed with superficiality, or get carried away by flashy advertisements without carefully examining it. That is why many people would like to own flashy cars, Rolex watches, expensive clothes and shoes even when they have no money nor can afford luxuries in any way. When they eventually do afford those things which they have spent their entire lives fantasizing to have, the principle of self concept comes into play, allowing them to waste the resources which they've centred their hopes, aspirations and entire lives around.

Back to the main point, in as much as it is refreshingly true that no one needs to re-invent the wheel which took time, energy and divine talent to invent and inspire the world, it would be unfortunate if we remain complacent and wallow in the bosom of mediocrity, as the saying goes "stagnant water stinks".
We all watch every single product and brainchild of the western world in awe, especially of the United states, it is all attractive, glossy and made to look easy, so much that we want to replicate them by outright imitation. Hmm, so much for originality, what this tells me is that we have comfortably settled for second place and totally lost sight of the benefits of long term goals, if we have any.
Our Alibi? Perhaps colonization, lack of adequate education and exposure, or our adamance in accepting it. Yeah right, life is perfect and there are no excuses. I cherish the words of Stephen R Covey, "Be Principle centered".

AN ALIBI AND A JUSTIFICATION...

The Planet earth is a very perfect case study for every form of exemplary model to help us understand the constant principles in direct proportion to the laws which govern the earth itself.
As complex and as somewhat complicated the world has always been, humanity has constantly proven to have come to stay, by embracing the optimist's view of life and adopting the adaptation strategy, or perhaps we should call it philosophy.
Have you ever thought or wondered how we came up with the calendar which is relatively consistent with the types of weather? or how we came up with Cars, Aeroplanes, Trains, Ships, decent clothing, phones and hundreds of thousands of more fantastic inventions that have come to stay to support and improve the existence of mankind.

The reason why most people from around the world love America so much is simply because the United states is a free country where you can express yourself and become the best you can be. Americans understand principles, therefore they have rather succumbed to the water current and make the most of it and not swim against the tide which could only sap away your energy and possible drown you as well.
We can view it in another way, lets just say Americans are not entirely nice after all, but since they discovered that the best way for them to succeed is to empower the people around them especially by not downplaying excellence to celebrate mediocrity as its done in many countries that constantly hypocritically and perhaps stupidly complain about their appalling circumstances...(to be continued)
